RENOWNED for captivating audiences with their distinctive and innovative blend of classical dance and theatre, the Northern Ballet Theatre return to the New Victoria Theatre, Woking, from October 5 to 9.

The group brings a haunting and atmosphe-ric adaptation of one of the world's best-loved romantic ballets, Swan Lake (pictured).

Set in New England at the dawn of the twentieth century, it tells the story of a young, wealthy college boy, who encounters a beautiful and bewitching swan-like creature to whom he swears undying love.

The inescapable tragedy of this Swan Lake is set in motion. Opulent and luxurious costumes designed by celebrated film and TV costumier Julie Anderson (Elizabeth, Dangerous Liaisons) complement sets capturing the elegant refinement of leafy New England, redolent of long, lazy days and old world grace.

The eloquence of David Nixon's choreography, combined with the dramatic abilities and technical prowess of the company's talented dancers, bring fresh, emotional relevance to this captivating story of betrayal and all-encompassing love.

Set to Tchaikovsky's timeless score, played live by the Northern Ballet Theatre orchestra, Swan Lake is guaranteed to delight.

Tickets, priced from £12, are available from the box office on 01483 545900 or online from www.theambassadors.com/woking
