THERE will be "Something in the Air" when the world-famous Squadronaires Orchestra touches down for an evening of pure nostalgia at Ferneham Hall, in Fareham, on Wednesday, October 6.
The original RAF Squadronaires were first formed during the Second World War in 1940 as the British version of the great American bands of the era.
Their first performance was at Blackpool with the girlfriend of one of the band members - Dame Vera Lynn.
When the band reformed in 1997, it was with the intention of "putting it back how it was" during the war years.
All the clean-cut musicians are dressed in RAF uniform, just like they were in the 1940s - so there is no long hair, beards, or earrings.
The programme of music includes Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey and the swinging hits of Doris Day, Harry James and Benny Goodman.
If you fancy a trip down memory lane, tickets costing £13.50, £12.50 for Fareham Leisure cardholders, are available from the box office or by calling the ticket line on 01329 231942.
