A Titchfield teenager has fulfilled a lifelong ambition by being named the village's carnival queen 2004.
Jessica Silver, 17, of St Margaret's Lane, was chosen from five hopefuls at a dance.
The Fareham College student, who works part-time as a researcher for Power FM
in Segensworth, will star in this year's event on October 25.
She said: "I have lived in Titchfield since I was three and I've always wanted to be in it.
"Being the queen is the ultimate thing you can do.
"I'm very proud and I'm really looking forward to it."
Organisers are looking for volunteers to act as stewards and marshals on the day.
