BRAMLEY Show: It was a busy day at Bramley Village Hall on August 28.
Entrants for the competitions arrived early and the tables were soon full of interesting items.
The children's classes showed much imagination and there were some fantastic "rubbish monsters".
Mrs Deirdre Toogood presented the awards, with the Chapman Challenge Cup again being won by Anne Porter, who also won Best in Show for her fruit and vegetables.
The Bill Davies Memorial Challenge Cup for Photography went to Valerie Gardener. The Toogood Challenge Cup for Christian Art (adults) was won by Gordon Joslyn, and the Toogood Challenge Cup for Christian Art (children) was won by Alex Rae.
It was a very good day for Alex, as he also carried off the Sam Bruce Cup and the children's Bramley Show Cup, as overall winner.
Nathan Wood won the Reed Potato Challenge Cup, and the Reed Challenge Cup for Best in Show (children) went to Luke Hickman.
Yvonne Denyer was again the well-deserved winner of the Phyl Davies Art Cup, and Anne Porter again walked off with the Floral Art Cup.
In the Domestic classes, the cup was awarded to Mr C Wyeth for his excellent cooking.
The doors opened to the public at 2pm, and the exhibits and results were viewed.
Many cups of tea were enjoyed, and then David Cowling auctioned off the fruit, vegetables and flowers.
The organisers thank exhibitors, judges and all who participated in any way.
UPSTAIRS Downstairs: A reminder that on Thursday, everyone is welcome to the pavilion, on Clift Meadow, at 7.30pm, when Mr Brian Spicer will give a talk on domestic life at Hackwood House.
