LAST week saw the launch of the new performance programme at Totally Tennis with players travelling from as far as Berkshire and Surrey to be involved.

New coach Inga Sydorenko from the Ukraine has joined regular performance coaches Nigel Long and Shane Deacon to offer the centre's top players a daily comprehensive training programme.

This is also enhanced by fitness training at the QMC gym.

Sydorenko, who has trained and played with some of Eastern Europe's top players, was the Ukrainian champion for two consecutive years - in 1992 and 1993.

She brings with her the Eastern European training mentality and all the players will benefit from her good technical knowledge and exceptional training methods.

The centre's top players now have the opportunity to train for up to three hours daily, combined with a fitness programme dedicated to each individual.

Tennis director Long said: "The players are already benefiting from Shane and Inga's enthusiasm and expertise.

"Inga's experience will provide the players with even more opportunities to further develop their potential.

"We are looking forward to seeing how good they all will be."
