INDIA captain Sourav Ganguly reckons his side are ready for their crunch clash against Pakistan after beating Kenya at the Rose Bowl.
Ganguly fell ten runs short of his 23rd ODI ton as India beat Kenya by 98 runs in front of a record Rose Bowl crowd of 11,867.
His 124-ball 90 included a 161-run partnership for the second wicket with VVS Laxman (79), and an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 77 in just six overs between Mohammad Kaif (49no from 29 balls) and Rahul Dravid (30no from 16 balls) took India to 290 for 4.
Then left-arm seamer Irfan Pathan (2 for 11) and Harbhajan 'Turbanator' Singh (3 for 33) proved too much for the Kenyans.
Ganguly used no fewer than seven bowlers as India warmed up for their match against Pakistan at Edgbaston on Sunday, the winners of which will play at the Rose Bowl in the second semi-final on September 22.
That allowed Maurice Ouma, one of two debutants in the Kenya side, to delay the inevitable by scoring 49 during a stubborn seventh-wicket stand of 72 in 21 overs with Brijal Patel.
Ganguly admitted: "We could have finished it earlier but it was important we gave everybody a bowl in a match situation. This puts us on a roll."
Kenya's interest in the tournament is likely to be over tomorrow unless they pull off a shock against Pakistan at Edgbaston.
