HAPPY Hamble Club continued their steady climb up through the table with an emphatic 6-0 victory over QK Southampton at the Shell Mex Ground.

Hamble, who lost three of their first four games, are now unbeaten in their last seven outings and, not surprisingly, their manager Julian Walters was a very happy man.

"I'm really pleased for my lads," said Walters. "They are a very young side and this is a great result for them. I've said before that we will get there in the end - and we certainly will."

Dave McIntosh was the Hamble hat-trick hero, with two-goal Danny Boere and Chris Jones completing their sextet.

Clanfield, the only Division 3 side without a win, finally broke their duck at the 11th attempt by beating Laverstock & Ford 1-0, while a single goal success for leaders Farnborough NE at home to Verwood edged them two points clear at the summit.

Colden Common are another in-form team at and they followed up Tuesday night's 2-1 success over Otterbourne with a 2-0 win against Netley Sports.

"The result was more important than the performance today," said Common manager Dave Riddell. "We've been giving the performances - it's results that we need now!

Matt Rackham's slide-rule through ball released Dean Higgins who slotted home Common's first goal on 18 minutes, and Higgins bagged the second on 75 minutes with a superb strike from the edge of the area.

Ordnance Survey notched only their second win of the campaign at the expense of basement battlers Yateley Green.

"We should have had ten, but we are struggling with our finishing at the moment," rued Survey boss Tim Balch.

Neil Prosser, Tim Rodham, Sean Haines and James Chalk secured a 4-2 triumph over Yateley.
