FORMER England winger Andy Sinton scored his first goal for Fleet Town as they won at Newport IOW, who failed to score for the fifth successive home game.
Newport are without a goal at St George's Park in 464 minutes and there was only going to be one result when Sinton curled home the first of Fleet's two goals.
Fleet, who play Bashley tomorrow night, made sure of the points when Lee Paul capitalised on a gaffe by Ollie Fleming.
Boss Mick Catlin said: "The conditions were difficult but it was important that we just got the points because otherwise they would have gone above us. Andy Sinton ran the show and scored a great goal."
Newport IOW manager John Linington said: "I'm not worried abut the lack of goals at home, Adam Barsdell and Ashely Wright are proven goal-scorers at this level.
"We had a few chances, especially in the second half when we had the wind in our favour."
