NEARLY 5m cigarettes, worth £700,000, have been seized by customs officers in Portsmouth.
The haul was found in a lorry which arrived at the port from Le Havre claiming to be carrying car parts. The 12 pallets of Embassy cigarettes were found inside a Dutch-registered lorry.
Its British driver has been questioned and bailed pending further enquiries.
