MARIAN PAHARS' injury agony goes on. The Saints striker hasn't played since hobbling off with an ankle injury during the pre-season win at Swindon in early August.
Although an ultra-sound scan has failed to show any problem, an MRI scan has now identified an area of ligament damage deep within the foot.
The Latvian, pictured above, has already had three operations on the ankle, forcing him to miss much of the last two seasons.
He looked to be on the way back to full fitness until he was injured at Swindon.
The injury has failed to respond to treatment and Pahars will go back to Bristol to discuss it with the specialist who carried out the previous surgery.
However, Saints are hoping he will not need another operation.
