PHOEBE Edwards loves growing flowers. But the five-year-old has surpassed herself with her latest production - a sunflower that towers over the others at 10 feet 9 inches.
The average height for sunflowers to grow is four to six feet.
Her mother, Charmaine, who is a former florist and nursery assistant says the height of the plant is all in the genes. Both mother and daughter, who live on Roman Way, grew their sunflowers from seeds, initially in plant pots on the windowsill.
