TEN-YEAR-OLD basketball starlet Levi Harris is already going the right way to emulate former Harlem Globetrotter Alan 'Swoop' Cunningham.

Despite his tender age, the St Marks schoolboy from Shirley already has size seven feet and he stands around elbow height against his 6ft 7in hero.

Levi has been basketball mad since the age of three. He started playing for his school team a year ago and now turns out for Solent Stars under-13s.

His ambition is to go the USA one day and play against the planet's best players in the world famous NBA.

That goal is long off just yet for the lad from Cawte Road, but already he is making his mark on the local scene.

He was voted the most valuable player (MVP) on a recent Solent Stars summer camp and is pictured receiving his award from crowd favourite Cunningham, who has just returned as Solent's senior men's co-coach.

SOLENT Stars Basketball Club are starting a coaching clinic at Fleming Park Leisure Centre on Saturday mornings from 10-11am.

The cost will be £2.50 per person and the first session will take place this Saturday (September 11). The clinic is aimed at the under-14 age-group.
