After their FA Cup exertions against Whitehawk on Tuesday evening - they won on penalties after an exciting 4-4 draw - AFC Totton returned to Sussex on Saturday and came away with a highly creditable 3-1 victory over Peacehaven & Telscombe.
"We were the better side and deserved our victory" said Totton manager Stuart Ritchie. "It was hot and the bumpy pitch dictated the way the game was played. It was just important to get through to the next round."
A Matt Parnell snapshot fired Totton ahead after 20 minutes with Scott Bundy adding a second ten minutes later with a neat volley following a cross by Craig Martin.
Bundy tapped in a third before the home side grabbed a late consolation. Totton are now home to Tunbridge Wells on September 18.
