AFTER school club: This will restart in the Village Club at 4pm on Wednesday.
This is a chance for children to learn craft skills, and places must be booked in advance. Contact Sam Abinger on 299248.
FIRST aid: The Red Cross will be running a basic four-week first aid course at the Health Centre starting on Monday, September 27, at 7.30pm.
Call Rosemary Crockford on 298252 or Ann Jeffery on 0118 9816731 to book.
AUTUMN Show: The Gardening Club has its big show at the Fieldgate Centre on Saturday, September 11, from 2pm (not September 4 as in my last piece).
This is the big fruit and vegetable show, but is accompanied by autumn flowers, chrysanthemums and dahlias.
There are lots of cake, jam and other classes and special classes for children. The latter are not well supported and could do with many more entries.
If you've never entered a garden show, why not try one of the "have a go" classes?
More details are available from John Eckton on 01256 850017 or Laura Butler on 01256 781892.
SEE you at Tidgrove? Go and see the Roman dig at Tidgrove Warren Farm, off the B3051, between Overton and the Whitchurch turn-off.
There is plenty of car parking and the chance to see real archaeology at work in a beautiful setting.
There will be lots of activities for children and it's all free!
Why not take a picnic and make it a pleasant day out. It opens at 10am on September 11 and 12. Last admission is at 4pm.
If you would like a lift on a minibus, call Peter Goff on 297088. It can carry wheelchairs and has a lift, and will take people with mobility problems right to the actual dig.
