THEY found perfect harmony through their passion for rock 'n' roll. And on Saturday Glenn Stewart and Helen Hughes were making more sweet music as they rock 'n' rolled up the aisle to become man and wife.

Laundry worker Helen, 37, arrived in style, driven from her Eastleigh home in a 1956 Buick called Pink Lady to the Southampton Register Office in Bugle Street.

The special wedding limo, driven by John Bailey, also carried the matron of honour Sue Foreman and the bridesmaid, 12 year-old Bethany Foreman.

There was also a motorbike outrider to make sure that the bride arrived on time. This duty was performed by rock 'n' fan Dave Foreman riding his Harley Davidson, with the metal glistening in the sun.

The guests swapped traditional wedding gear for drapes with bootlace ties and 50s-style skirts. Helen even had musical notes embroidered on the hem on her wedding gown.

Glenn, 37, a welder at the Eastleigh Railway Works, was bowled over by the reception from fellow rock 'n' rollers.

Proudly holding his bride on his arm, he said: "It is just fantastic. We are both great rock 'n' roll fans. We have known each other for about seven years and it was through rock 'n' roll we met at a dance in Bournemouth."

The couple naturally prefer 50s music and Elvis is one of their all-time heroes.

After a reception at Bishopstoke's Prince of Wales pub the couple, who are honeymooning in Disneyland Paris and Spain, moved on to the Eastleigh Railway Club.

They and their guests took the dance floor by storm dancing to the music of Johnnie Fox and The Hunters.
