THANK you: To Gill Fearon who has been minding the column for the past couple of weeks while I've been soaking up the clouds in France!
If it wasn't for Gill there would have been a big gap here.
CONGRATULATIONS: Terry Raisborough is in the news again.
Today, Terry will be on her way to Birmingham as one of the five finalists of the BBC Gardener of the Year.
Terry has been chosen from thousands of gardeners, and some of us were lucky enough to see her garden at White Gables earlier in the summer.
Brian Raisborough said: "It's an absolute miracle that Terry has got through to the final. Now she has to create a garden at the Pebble Mill studios with the theme of classical paintings. Terry has chosen The Four Ballerinas by Degas."
Terry said: "The cameras have been here to film the garden to see where I get my inspiration."
INDOOR car boot sales: The first of these fundraising events will be on Saturday, September 11, from 9am to 11am. Set-up is from 8am.
Entrance costs 50p and tables cost £10.
Call Jacqui on 01256 883664 to book your table.
PRESENTATION: You are invited to the Hampshire Village of the Year formal presentation by The Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire on Friday, September 17, from 4pm to 5.30pm.
