NURSLING got off to a flying start in the Drew Smith Group Southampton Premier League under new manager Pat McManus.
They roared to an opening day 4-0 success over newly- promoted Locksley Sports.
The first goal was a delightful curling lob over the keeper by Dave Fell.
The second came when Paul Odam ran on to score while Locksley protested a handball.
Further goals from Ian Shaw and Jake Wilson completed the rout.
AFC Arrow bombarded the Otterbourne goal but had only two goals to show for their efforts - one each for Lee Guppy and Andy Singleton.
Classic Comrades surprised last season's runners-up Botley Village as goals from Rob Burch, Christian Miller and a Stuart Richmond penalty sgave the Eastleigh-based side a 3-2 win.
Last season's prop squad, Priory Rovers, won their opener by the same score against a Youthful Brendan side. The game saw the rare spectacle of brothers Martin Stuart (Priory) and Malcolm Stuart (Brendon) both scoring. Priory's other marksmen were Dan Fricker and Lee Turski.
The earliest goal of the day was at Cadnam as the home side scored through Tommy Peglar in just 12 seconds.
His side went on to defeat AFC Target 3-1 with Peglar adding a second and Wayne Green a late third. Last season's Senior 1 top pair, Wellow and Hythe Aztecs, met and a high-scoring encounter it proved.
Aztecs were 2-1 up at the interval but Wellow stormed back to win 5-3 thanks to strikes from Owen Buttle (2), Lee Betteridge, James Alexander and an own goal.
The Waterman brothers grabbed Aztecs' consolations with Steve scoring twice from the penalty spot and Alex once from open play.
