SOUTHAMPTON'S Matt Blackey carded a level par 71 to finish the Omega European Masters tournament in Switzerland on 282 yesterday.
Blackey, who fired a one over par 72 on Saturday, ended 17 shots behind winner Luke Donald, who won by five from Jose Miguel Angel.
Donald believes his performance - and that of his Ryder Cup team-mates performance this week - sends out a chilling message to America.
The Englishman is in the perfect shape for the Oakland Hills showdown. Donald said: "I would hope it does justify my pick. It was great all three of us in the Ryder Cup being in the same group. It is a strong message to send to the US guys."
