Patients at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital are already benefiting from equipment donated by Winchester's League of Friends.
The "Ligature" system uses electrical currents to stop arteries bleeding by binding them together.
Almost £16,500 was raised through collection boxes, subscriptions and fund-raising to pay for the portable device which can be used in both keyhole and open surgery.
"The computer in the machine sends the right current to seal arteries and stops bleeding," said consultant surgeon, Paul Gartell.
"It is an extremely valuable and flexible resource and I would like to thank everyone who made a donation."
League of Friends chairman, Pat Haddock, added: "I am delighted to present such a magnificent machine and would like to thank everyone who has supported this appeal."
