GRAHAM TAPPENDEN broke the Greenridge Farm match record in the Saturday Open.
Greenridge has been fishing really well over the past few weeks and it was only a matter of time before the match record went. Tappenden took a massive bag of 162lb 14oz of carp for victory - on maggot from peg 18 on canal two. Following him home was Mark Turnbull, with 133lb 12oz of carp from peg eight on canal one.
Colin Stark was third with 111lb 8oz from peg 16 on canal two and Pete Newman fourth with 94lb 12oz from peg 20 on canal two.
Mick Kenny will be running an evening series of matches at Greenridge beginning tomorrow until the end of October with the draw at 3pm (fishing 4-8pm). For further information contact Mick Kenny on 0774 255 6951.
The last of the Stoneham Bottom Lake evening series on Thursday evening saw Dave Higgins take roach and silver fish on the pole and caster for 25lb 9oz to just beat in-form Graham Tappenden on 24lb 2oz of silver fish taken on the pole and pellet. Third was Mick Small with 17lb 10oz of silver fish on the method feeder.
Others: Rich Allen on 12lb 4oz, Mick Kenny 10lb 2oz, Charlie Smith 8lb 2oz.
TVAC held a pairs match on Embley and Kings on Bank Holiday Monday with Dave Self and son Richard taking 14 points out of 14. Dave took the top weight from Kings with 59lb 14oz and Richard the top weight from Embley with 16lb 2oz.
Second were Gary Wright (12lb 14oz from Embley) and Pete Newman (58lb from Kings) for 12 points. In third place, again on 12 points but with less weight, were John Clark (5lb 8oz from Embley) and Colin Watts (22lb 5oz from Kings).
Holtwood and Wedgehill were the venues for Christchurch's club match, Dave George taking 69lb 3oz of carp from Holtwood on pellet and corn. Ian McCall was second with 56lb from Wedgehill.
Others: Steve Mancey 46lb 6oz, Steve Hemmings 43lb 2oz.
Salmon Leap AC fished a match on Manor Farm at Ower with Steve Baker taking a bream and carp bag on worm and pelletfor 36lb 12oz. Second home was Andy West with 32lb 8oz of bream, taken on worm.
Others: Dennis Brondby, 25lb 4oz of carp and bream, Paul Lloyd, 16lb 12oz of bream and carp and Tony Haywood, 14lb 5oz.
