THE Isle of Wight's reputation as a home of great music seems to be growing all the time.

Not only has it seen the welcome return of the Isle of Wight Festival and the forthcoming all new Bestival Festival but it has also seen the resurrection of Ventnor Winter Gardens as a live music venue.

Following the success of their Sam Brown concert, which sold out well in advance, September 25 sees 80s pop group Then Jerico come to the venue.

Then Jerico's hits included Big Area, Sugar Box and Muscle Deep, although their female fans may remember lead singer Mark Shaw's chiselled good looks with most fondness.

Mark, pictured above, returned to the public eye recently when he walked out of ITV show Reborn in the USA as he found it too cheesy.

Then Jerico will be supported at the venue by Isle of Wight musician Staff Brett.

Matt Irving, manager of Ventnor Winter Gardens, is optimistic that the venue is set to attract lots more big names in the future.

"We are undertaking work to the venue this year which should see it right back on the map as a recognised destination for professional bands," he said.

Tickets for Then Jerico are £10 in advance. Call 01983 855215.
