NEW Forest residents are being urged to help raise thousands of pounds for terminally ill patients.
Cyclists and walkers are needed to take part in the 2004 Oakhaven Hospice Bike and Hike Charity Challeng on Sunday, October 3.
Organised with the Forestry Commission, the event will start and finish at Hollands Wood Campsite, just off the A337 near Brockenhurst.
Cyclists will be able to choose from routes of five, 15 and 30 miles, while walkers will have the option of a three, six or ten-mile hike. There's free beer too - once you've reached to finish line.
All money raised with go to the Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington.
Corinne Bekenn, chairman of the Bike and Hike Committee, said: "We are delighted to have a new venue and new routes using the same start and finish.
"This means that families, individuals and groups of bikers and hikers can really join together and have a great time.
"Last year the event raised £36,400. That was a fantastic result but we hope to beat it this year.
"This level of support demonstrates just how special and important Oakhaven is to our local community and how important the community is to us and the future of the hospice."
Anyone interested in taking part can pick up leaflets with entry forms from Oakhaven shops in Lymington, New Milton and Hythe or call Estelle on 01590 613038.
