THANK you: The Berkshire branch of the British Polio Fellowship met in the grounds of Aldermaston visitor centre last Saturday.

Eileen Monger and her daughter Sharon would like to thank everyone who gave or helped in any way, especially to Wendy, for her kindness in allowing it to be there and her much-needed help.

GOOD Citizen Awards: Last Monday, the town council presented Sammie and Carol Armstrong with Good Citizen awards for the wonderful work they do for the town.

Sammie, who is an assistant priest at St Mary's and moderator for Churches Around Tadley, has, in the past, conducted various services for council events.

Carol has done a variety of work for the local community and is a founder member of Crosslink. Both of them visit many sick residents at home and hospital as well as carrying out many other Christian duties in the area.

For the first time, the council gave a group an award as the Town Design Statement volunteers, under chairman Anne Bentley, were also recognised for their hard work.

Their statement has been accepted by the borough council and used by the town council planning committee.

Copies are available from the town council offices and are well worth reading and looking at. Congratulations to everyone involved.

TADLEY Today: Great news for the town. In early October a new magazine will be coming through your door called Tadley Today, which will include what's on and lots of information about local groups.

Copies will be available from estate agents, the library and other places.

RNLI: The Tadley branch of the RNLI would like to thank everyone who has supported and contributed to its recent flag day outside Sainsbury's and also the house-to-house collection.

As a result, £1,452 has been passed to the RNLI.
