PAVEMENT: It is almost the end of the school holidays and there is still no pedestrian access to the South View schools yet.

It doesn't look as if this is going to happen for a while yet. Sentinel Housing and Hampshire County Council seem to be blaming each other for the delay. But this doesn't help the parents, does it?

On September 10, Mansell will be sealing off the access routes to the school via Vivian Road and the shops.

But I'm sure they will help with a temporary access route until the path is in place for the schools.

COUNCILLORS surgery: If you have any issues or questions on the above matter or any other issue, the next councillors surgery will be held on Thursday, September 2, between 6.30pm and 7.30pm, at the Oakridge Hall For All.

COMMUNITY centre: Contractors have nearly finished laying asphalt in front of the community centre.

There is still some tidying-up to be done, but it is getting there!

There have been two break-ins in two weeks, both at the centre.

If you have any information that could help the police with their inquiries, call Pc Andy Steel in confidence on 01256 405286.

A BIG thank you: To all those involved in helping and supporting local schemes and projects over the summer holidays for the youth, with music workshops, playschemes and all sorts of other things.
