ROADWORKS: The roadworks continue along the B3349 to Reading and drivers are reminded to find an alternative route while the work is in progress.
Please remember that the B3349 is closed to drivers but access is available for those living along the road.
Don't forget that this also means that Hook Garden Centre is open as usual for business and that it can be reached.
As for as the alternative route via Hartley Wintney (bringing you out on the B3349 at Wellington Country Park) - apparently this route only takes a mere seven minutes more, so things aren't quite as bad as they may seem.
CROOKED Billet events: Young at heart and pure of mind, Richard Barwise Sanders will be celebrating his big 50 in a couple of weeks' time, down at the Crooked Billet.
On Friday, September 3, local band Stroke the Toad will be returning for a live performance in the marquee, starting at 8pm.
Tickets are available on the night for £8 and include a barbecue.
On Saturday, September 4, there will be the annual duck race, where Hook and Odiham Lions will be giving a helping hand.
It starts at 11.30am and finishes at approximately 2.30pm.
Tickets are available from the Crooked Billet and all proceeds will go to local charities.
Finally, on Monday, September 6, there will be a fun quiz in the marquee at 8.30pm.
