MORE mast appeals: Following the news that mobile operator O2 was to appeal against the borough council's refusal of its application for a mast in Cliddesden Lane, Simon Preedy reports that T-Mobile is also to appeal.

According to Simon, this raises the possibility of as many as five masts in the Cliddesden Lane area, unless an alternative such as the Portsmouth Estate land can be used.

YOUTH drop-in cafe: The young people's drop-in cafe will be starting up again in September.

The first one will be on Friday, September 17, at 7pm.

For £1 you can stop by for a chat, refreshments, listen to music or play snooker or table tennis.

The community centre is looking for volunteer staff to help with this.

For further details, contact the community office on 811262.

WI: The Hatch Warren branch of the WI returns after a short summer break with its regular meeting next Thursday, which will include a talk about homeopathy.

The meeting starts at 8pm in the lounge of the community centre.

New members and visitors are always welcome.

CHRISTMAS is coming! This may seem a very long way off, but for those very organised people among us, who have their Christmas shopping already well planned, here is a date for the diaries.

The Community Centre will be holding a Christmas craft and gift fair on Saturday, November 13.

This will give Christmas shoppers the chance to buy items hand-made by local craftsmen.

BACK to school: Sadly, the long summer break is coming to an end and the children and young people will soon be back at school.

Just a quick reminder to drivers to be aware that carers and children will be out and about again in the mornings and evenings.
