FUNDRAISERS had a splashing time at this year's RNLI Raft Races.

The annual extravaganza held at Hythe Pier sees crews trying to out-think one another as they race across the water.

Four separate events were held throughout the day, including a ladies race, a decorated rafts race, a junior race for crews between the ages of 15 and 18 and the Great Race.

The ladies race was won by The Sarah B, which also won the junior race when it was manned by its younger crew.

This year's decorated raft competition was won by the Malt and Hops Pub's raft which was adorned by ladies dressed as beauty queens.

And the Great Race was won by the South America 5000.

Prizes were also presented to the crew of Hickory Dickory Dock - a boat in the shape of a giant grandfather clock - for most ingenious raft, while the Army won the category for 'most pathetic entry' after having to be rescued twice.
