INSPECTORS have praised a New Forest college for its standard of teaching - describing it as "very good."
The education on offer at Brockenhurst College was also found to be outstanding in four of the 11 curriculum areas.
Following their three-day visit in April to the college, which had 2,230 full-time students at the time, Ofsted inspectors have just published their findings.
They described the college's leadership and management as 'outstanding.'
Other strengths included its high pass and retention rates, its good support of students and its inclusive culture.
However, inspectors said the college's provision for the learning of key skills was in need of improvement.
They also said the accommodation used by theory, independent living skills and visual and performing arts students needing to be improved.
College principal Michael Snell, pictured right, said: "This outstanding Ofsted report is excellent news for Brock students, their parents and for staff.
"It confirms the quality of our sixth form and adult education as being the very best, not only in Hampshire and Dorset, but nationwide.
"It is a tribute to a brilliant team of dedicated staff and to the achievements of all our students.
