STOCKBRIDGE stormed their way to the top of the Division 2 table on Saturday - they defeated Aldermaston 2-1 for a third straight victory, while the three clubs who started the day above them all failed to pick up maximum points.
A powerful 25-yard drive by Ryan Boare and a Simon Poultney effort put 'Bridge 2-0 up inside 20 minutes with Aldermaston pulling a goal back after 87 minutes.
Bishop's Waltham Town surrendered pole position after being held 2-2 by East Cowes Vics at Priory Park, while Brading - who host Stockbridge this afternoon - lost their 100 per cent record in a 3-3 draw with Horndean and fellow 100 percenters Whitchurch crashed 2-1 at home to new-boys Shaftesbury.
Those results mean that Lymington Town are now the only other club with a perfect record following their 2-0 success at Romsey Town.
Lymington keeper Stuart Williamson saved a first-half penalty before they took the lead on 57 minutes through substitute Kevin Brennan, who clambered off the bench to crash in a terrific 20-yard left-footed drive.
The visitors made it 2-0 after 75 minutes, Paul Sims was brought down by the keeper and Danny Veal made no mistake from the penalty spot.
Lymington travel to Poole Town this afternoon and the Dolphins warmed up for the top-of-the-table clash with a 2-1 victory over United Services Portsmouth.
Leigh Cornick scored after five minutes and Ollie Cherrett doubled their lead.
Blackfield & Langley are still looking for their first points after going down 4-1 at home to Petersfield Town.
Adam Fawcett opened the scoring from an acute angle on 51 minutes with Gavin Keogh bagging a second moments later. Graham Game fired in Town's third on 69 minutes before heading in their fourth three minutes later.
