THANKS to another Daily Echo Make it Happen award this Scout group will be taking to the water with some brand new equipment.
The group's canoeing and kayaking equipment is more than ten years old and its leaders wrote to the Daily Echo pleading for some financial help.
The Daily Echo Combined Insurance Make it Happen Award scheme gives all our readers the opportunity to apply for a share of £10,000 to fund community projects.
After teaming up with Combined Insurance, which operates throughout the UK, we have received hundreds of applications for a share of the cash.
The Romsey Scout Group will receive £200 to pay for new helmets and safety equipment. It will allow the Scouts to continue their canoeing expeditions on local rivers and lakes.
Group helper and canoe instructor Ann Bourne, said: "The group means a lot to all its members. The canoeing and kayaking activities enable the Scouts to make personal achievements and learn how to work as a team.
"It also encourages them to look out for, and look after each other. It's a great way to build self-esteem as well.
"We are over the moon with this award. We are desperately trying to replace our equipment and materials. We have gone through various other grant processes and it all takes time.
"This money really is a great help."
It's till not too late to apply for help. Simply fill in the form published on page 20 in today's Daily Echo.
