WHITCHURCH United went third in what looks to be a very competitive Division Two on Saturday with a gutsy win over United Services Portsmouth at Longmeadow.
United boss Jim Macey introduced two new faces for the game as his fledgling squad takes shape for the long haul and they both contributed to a 2-1 victory.
The visitors had the better of the exchanges until around ten minutes before the break as Whitchurch were off the pace against a well drilled outfit.
But they were given a boost when Cliff Power rifled in a free-kick from the edge of the box to give his side an important lead.
