MULTI-AWARD-WINNING comedian Jimmy Carr embarks on his first-ever UK tour, performing at the theatre Royal, Winchester, next month.
Over the past few years, Carr (pictured above) has deservedly earned his place among the premier league of British comedians.
Appearing on Friday, September 17, at 8pm, his unique style and one-liners have led him to be one of the most original and distinctive stars on television and the comedy circuit today.
As the face of comedy on Channel 4, he has presented Your Face or Mine and Distraction and has also made appearances on Have I Got News For You (BBC2) and Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC2).
It's been a meteoric rise and 2004 continues to be a remarkably successful year for Carr's work. The Guardian said: "A masterclass in comedy... devastating, tasteless two-liners that are bliss to listen to... Carr's persona is irresistible, and his wisecracks have you quivering with satisfaction."
The Theatre Royal has an exceptional comedy line-up this season. As well as Jimmy Carr, the autumn will see performances by Jeremy Hardy, Tony Robinson, Mark Thomas, The Edinburgh & Beyond Comedy Tour 2004 and Jeff Green.
Join the theatre's Comedy Club for £10 per year and members and up to four friends can save £1 each off tickets, plus discounted bar prices on comedy nights.
To book tickets, priced £14, log on to www.theatre-royal-winchester.co.uk or call 01962 840440.
