Newly-crowned British champion Adam Fleetwood tops the bill in the Nicholson McLaren British Hillclimb Championship event at Gurston Down on Sunday.
Fleetwood gunned his 3.5 litre Gould GR55 to a new hill record when he won the British Championship event at the Broadchalke venue in May, and he'll be looking for that 25-second run at the weekend.
Behind him in the championship there is a real fight going on for the remaining top championship positions between former champion Roger Moran and BAR Formula 1 team aerodynamicst Willem Toet.
And there will be plenty of top action throughout the entry of modified production cars, sports racing cars and smaller capacity racing cars as competitors also compete in the British Hillclimb Leaders Championship, which awards points for position in class.
Among the local drivers to look out for will be Andover's Karl Stevens in his two-litre Mark 2 Ford Escort, Jonathan Gates of Brockenhurst (2.0 Westfield SE), Paul Webster from Fareham in his 2.0 Pulsar and Salisbury's Chris Cannell with an amazing 2.6 litre twin-Suzuki bike engined Force SR8.
The 1100cc racing car class sees Duncan Barnes (Totton) taking on Stockbridge father and son Mike and Nik Gregory, while Peter Sexton (Lymington) runs his 1.4 OMS in the 600cc racing car class.
Southampton's Tom New, who won one of the two championship run-offs here in May, pilots his gorgeous sounding V6 Rover-powered Pilbeam MP88 in the two-litre racing car class.
Practice starts on Saturday followed by practice and competition on Sunday starting at 8.30am.
