TRIUMPHANT after Saints' first victory of the season, star striker Kevin Phillips kicked off a fun day at Sherfield English.
Villagers turned out in force for family fun and a dog show to raise funds for the Sherfield English Recreation Project.
An area which was once a farmer's field is being transformed into the sporting paradise. It is already the stage for soccer and cricket action.
Now, fundraising is focused on the project to build hard courts for tennis and netball courts.
Saints striker Kevin Phillips was introduced by village resident and TV star Richard Digance.
Sherfield English's own budding soccer starlets got into the thick of the action with six-a-side football tournament.
