The Bishop on the Bridge's weekly gourmet barbecue has gone down so well that it has secured the Win-chester pub a place in the finals of a national competition.
The riverside inn at the bottom of the High Street will battle it out to be crowned king of the barbies at a ceremony later this year.
Ewan Black, manager of the pub since March, has held a gourmet barbecue every Saturday throughout August.
"Without a doubt it's a unique event in Winchester. Most pub barbecues just offer burgers and sausages cheaply," he said.
The Bishop's sumptuous menu features treats such as fresh whole fish, prawn kebabs and a host of tasty vegetarian options. The barbecues will continue throughout Sept-ember, weather permitting.
Ewan will find out if the Bishop has won at the London Savoy Hotel ceremony on November 17.
