A TUDOR-themed fun day at Winchester Cathedral saw children learn the customs of England 450 years ago.
The youngsters were at the cathedral as part of a series of summer holiday events being staged to provide fun activities.
As well as learning how to perfect a Tudor ruffle collar, the youngsters also got the chance to make pomanders.
These ages-old devices, made from oranges and cloves, were originally used to disguise bodily smells generated by the Tudors' lack of personal hygiene and washing facilities.
However, for the seven young people who took part, the pomanders were only historical tools rather than vital public necessities!
