A VILLAGE hall near Winchester is in the running for a national award.
Selborne Village Hall is on a shortlist of three to win the prestigious title of National Village Hall of the Year.
The grand sum of £300,000 has been raised to refurbish the hall, with building work due to start at the end of the month.
New life has been breathed into the hall, which now plays host to many clubs and social events.
The winner of the competition, organised by the National Farmers Union Countryside, will be declared at the end of September.
