DISABLED pensioner Mrs Doreen Galvin is not very happy with Sarsen Housing Assoc-iation because so far it has failed to find a suitable replacement for an old shower tray.
Mother-of-four Doreen, who is 65 and suffers from a number of disabling ailments, needs to be wheeled into her shower in a chair but the latest tray is too narrow.
She says the problem started when her old tray began to craze and flake away, about four months ago.
Since then she has had 14 separate visits from workmen and inspectors from the housing group.
"The one they have fitted doesn't give me enough room to put my hand down the side so that I can pull myself up - I need one about three inches wider," said Doreen, who has lived in the property in King George VI Road in Tidworth since the 1960s.
So far three trays have been put in - one was too small, another was too long and the current one is too narrow - but she needs one that is just right.
A spokesman for Sarsen Housing Association said they were fully aware of the problem but had been sent the wrong size by the manufacturers.
"We are doing out best to hurry them up with the correct size.
"When we receive it, we will fit it," he said.
Meanwhile, the housing association said it decided to leave the narrow tray in situ rather than leave Mrs Galvin with nothing.
