IT brings a whole new meaning to the phrase speed dating - but motorists looking for love in the fast lane can now enjoy a dating agency with a difference.
Help is at hand for drivers who enjoy the thrill of the chase, or even those whose love life is stuck in a jam, thanks to a Hampshire businessman.
Phillip Wills, 35, from Titchfield, is gearing up to launch his pl8m8 website next month.
Members attach a sticker to their car in the hope that it will be spotted by the driver of their dreams. All the interested party need do is note down their car registration number.
Then they simply type the unique number into the website and are met with a profile of their dream date and matchmakers at the website can put the lovebirds in touch.
The website is being launched locally on September 1 and if successful has the potential to be used nationally and even internationally.
Mr Wills, managing director of Bevanter Ltd in Cams Hill, Fareham, said: "Four years ago I was sitting in the car in a traffic jam and it came to me. I just thought to myself: 'What do you do while you're sat there?' There's nothing to do - you can't play a game or anything. This is like a game, only better.
"I'm very, very excited about it. This is my baby and I never ever thought I'd see it live.
"I desperately want it to work. I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
"It doesn't have to be people looking for love. It might be a racer boy who likes the look of someone else's exhaust!"
The site has a number of safety features to protect members and all contact is done through monitors.
A welcome pack includes a sticker for your back window, stickers for your side windows and credit card-sized cards to give to your friends.
The joining fee is £19.95 for six months or £29.95 for a year.
