ASSC Hamble 2 Andover 4 Andover Lions duly pocketed three points from Saturday's bizarre opening Wessex League encounter at Hamble, but not before they had tried hard to present the home side with a win with a shocking first 20 minutes.
In the end the victory was comfortable, in the main because the plane makers presented it to Andover on a silver plate with a bow on it.
Two second half penalties against ten men and three goals from three different debutants changed the course of the game after Hamble had raced into a two-goal lead.
