FLY-TIPPERS have dumped tons of rubble outside a Southampton shop.
Derek Caplen, who runs DC Upholstery in Portswood Road, found piles of broken concrete, pipes and stones scattered all over the small yard at the back of his premises.
Piled three feet high in some places, the mess covered a 10ft by 7ft area and blocked two entrance doors to a storage room.
Now Mr Caplen, who says he has been a victim of fly-tipping dozens of times, faces a £100 bill to get the mess cleared away.
The latest incident has meant he has not been able to carry out some parts of his upholstery business because he cannot get to the materials he needs.
"The people who did this are just being lazy and greedy by not bothering to pay £15 to take their rubbish to a landfill site," he said.
"It's no different to vandalism because it's so costly to sort out. If you don't get rid of the rubbish immediately people just add to it."
It is believed a tipper truck was used to dump the rubbish last Friday morning after gaining entry by an access road.
Mr Caplen, who pays around £400 every year for Southamp-ton City Council to remove his business waste, has even had builders' rubbish squeezed into his lockable bin.
