MORE than 200 people had the chance to play at being soldiers at a special event held at Winchester's Peninsula Barracks.
The fun day was staged to give people the chance to learn more about the city's very own regiment, the Royal Green Jackets.
It was the first time the Royal Green Jackets museum has held such an event.
Visitors were offered a wide variety of activities to keep them busy.
Youngsters had hands-on experience of a paintball gun and target and camouflage kits while adults were able to find out about the regiment's history.
Major Ken Gray, curator at the Romsey Road museum, said: "The aim of this event was simply to encourage more people and families to visit the museum and learn more about their local regiment. We've had a very successful first fun day and judging by the numbers through the door, it may be the first of many."
