JOHN CROCKFORD is confident he will be back in the British Supersport Championship in time for the Cadwell Park meeting on August 30.
The Southampton motor cycle road racer, pictured above, reports that plans to ride for the MSS Discovery Kawasaki team are advancing well.
With the backing of IPONE Oils, Crockford is hoping a new bike will be ready in time for the tenth round at Cadwell when he will come in to partner the former World Supersport campaigner, Spain's Per Riba, on the eye-catching green Kawasaki.
There's even more exciting plans afoot for Crockford involving the famous old Italian marque MV Agusta, who are planning a comeback in superbikes next year.
Back in the 1960s and 70s, the red and silver four-cylinder MVs dominated world motorcycle racing with great riders like John Surtees and Giacomo Agostini.
Crockford is in talks over a possible ride in 2005. He says: "There are possibilities with MV Augusta and MSS Kawasaki for next year."
The 32-year-old Southampton rider hasn't raced since his pal Jamie Morley was seriously injured in a crash at Brands Hatch in June.
