PEOPLE in Southampton have been getting their hands on their heritage during a community dig.
The city council's archaeology unit has led the event at the site near Town Quay, which contains ruins dating back to the 1300s.
Experts have pinpointed an underground cellar, which will take several months to excavate.
Dr Andy Russel said: "So far we have mostly found stuff dating back to the Blitz and later and have got some coins from the 1940s, which probably to relates to when it was bombed. But we are hoping to find evidence for the exact size of the building originally."
