A LOCAL school has received a prestigious award for its commitment to improving facilities for its students and the local community.
Wildern School in Hedge End has been given the prime minister's public buildings award in recognition of the architectural developments of its new Digital Media Centre.
The centre, which opened in November, includes English rooms, science labs and state-of-the-art ICT suites, as well as catering facilities and a professional development centre.
A representative from the Commission for Architecture and the Environment visited the school to present a plaque during a ceremony attended by head teacher Jeffrey Threlfall and the chairman of governors, Glenda Lane.
