FOOTPATHS: The footpath group will be meeting on Saturday, August 21, at 10am at the village club, and not on the last Saturday of this month.
There still seems to be a lot of vegetation to clear, including growback, and our waymarking needs checking.
If you would like to join us, call Heath Denness on 298376 or Sue Woodman on 297144.
Have you noticed any footpath problems lately, such as blockages, overgrowth or lack of signs? If so, please call the numbers above.
SUMMER fete: This annual event in the churchyard will be on Monday, August 30, at 2pm. There is still space for more stalls.
The parish council will be having a stall at which you can meet councillors and find out more about the Village Plan, and how everyone can make a contribution to the future development of the village.
VOLUNTEERS: The parish council is calling for nominations for volunteer and citizen of the year awards. If you know of anyone who goes the extra mile for Kingsclere, then ask the parish clerk for a nomination form.
ANNUAL show: The final gardening club show is at the Fieldgate Centre on Saturday, September 4, from 2pm to 4.30pm.
This is always the big vegetable event, but with lots of floral displays and the usual cooking and crafts sections.
Entry is open to all and you can obtain a show schedule from the rack in the village club.
BIG dig: We are hoping to have a wheelchair-friendly bus available to transport people with mobility problems to the site from the Square on September 11 and 12, when we will have the site open with lots of events going on.
Call Peter Goff on 297088.
