GREEN-fingered residents are needed in Millbrook to help transform an overgrown piece of land into a spectacular organic vegetable plot for the whole community.
The farm, in Green Lane, has picked up a £4,000 cash grant from the Outer Shirley Regeneration board - and is now hunting for willing would-be gardeners.
The money will help to turn land near Millbrook Community School into a landscaped organic garden, complete with wildlife corner, raised flower bed, water feature and sensory plant section, by next spring.
Local people will be able to "own" and care for a small piece of the garden and develop green habits such as composting, waste recycling and rainwater collection, and solar power will be put into practice.
New volunteers are needed. Contact Ian Limbrick on 023 8052 2706 to find out how to get involved.
