PIZZA giant Domino is looking to set up five new stores in south Hampshire to satisfy booming demand for takeaway food.
The new stores will each employ up to 30 people, creating 150 new jobs in the region.
Two of the new stores will be located in Southampton, which Pizza bosses say is a key area for Dominos in the coming year.
The move comes as part of a 50- strong store expansion plan that the dough to doorstep delivery specialists are unveiling across the country.
Domino's already runs 330 stores across the UK and Ireland but says as much as 60 per cent of the country is still out of reach of a shop.
Areas being scoured for suitable sites to open new stores include Aldermoor, Fareham, Hedge End, Lords Hill and Totton.
The company is looking for high visibility properties with rear access, parking, and at least 15,000 households in a three-mile radius.
Colin Jarrold, Domino's property acquisition manager, said: "Finding appropriate properties in our target locations is essential if Domino's is to realise its expansion plans. Southampton is a key area for us this year.
"In 2003 we opened a record number of stores and want to build on this success this year. Being at the heart of a vibrant community is key to our success and Southampton is an ideal location for expansion.
"If we are successful in our bid to open five new stores in the area, we will be creating a total of 150 local full and part-time jobs.
"We are keen to talk to anyone who thinks that they have the right kind of property in the area."
