THESE are the first pictures of two thugs locked up for terrorising people in Fareham.
James Nice, 18, and Anthony Cripps, 24, stole alcohol, subjected people to tirades of abuse and were guilty of countless acts of anti-social behaviour.
The pair were jailed this week for assault, a series of public order offences and theft.
In a bid to protect the public from further trouble on their release, police successfully applied for three-year anti-social behaviour orders to come into force once they are released.
ONE of the victims of two men who terrorised people in Fareham with abuse, antisocial behaviour and thieving has spoken of his relief that they are off the streets of the town.
Taxi driver Nasir Ali has spoken exclusively to the Daily Echo about the night he was attacked by James Nice and Anthony Cripps.
The 22-year-old from Fratton had refused to let the pair into his car at Fareham station on July 10 as they appeared drunk and Nice was carrying an open alcoholic drink.
They shouted abuse at Mr Ali, and Nice kicked his car and swung a punch at him.
Cripps, 24, and Nice, 18, were jailed for assault, a series of public order offences and theft.
In a bid to protect the public from further trouble on their release, police successfully applied for three-year Antisocial Behaviour Orders (ASBOs) to be placed on the pair.
Mr Ali, an independent cabbie in Fareham, said: "I didn't want them in my car and they were totally out of order.
"I'm really pleased at the sentence because they also cause other taxi drivers problems.
"They've been giving people a lot of grief and have been a nuisance.
"I'm glad they got locked up. They were causing a lot of people a lot of problems. They are trouble."
Sgt Pat Dawson of Fareham police, said the conviction sent out a clear message that antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated.
Under the terms of the three-year ASBOs, which will come into force when they are released, it will be illegal for them to harrass, distress or alarm people anywhere in England and Wales.
The pair will also be rearrested if found carrying an open container of alcohol, drunk in any public place or drinking alcohol in any public place other than a pub, across Fareham and Gosport.
The court heard that on July 10 Cripps, from Ocean Close, and Nice, from Barnfield Court, carried out an unprovoked attack on a man who was waiting for a train at Portchester Railway Station. They then targeted MrAli.
The court heard how the pair both had alcohol problems and resorted to stealing drink when they couldn't afford to buy it.
They both have a string of alcohol-related previous convictions.
The pair pleaded guilty to all charges, including two each of stealing food and alcohol from One Stop in Redlands Lane and Unwins in Fareham in May and June.
Nice received four months for the first assault, four months concurrent for the second, two months consecutive for the attack on Mr Ali and one month concurrent for theft. He was ordered to pay £255 compensation.
Cripps was sentenced to four months in prison for the first attack, two months for the attack on Mr Ali and one-month concurrent for shoplifting. He was ordered to pay £205 compensation to his victims.
