THIS week the Andover Advertiser rolls out its Save Our theatre campaign to call for the creation of an arts and leisure complex which will cater for all - and a public meeting to discuss the proposal.
Andover deserves to have a cinema, a theatre and a concert hall. It is vital that we save Cricklade Theatre for the community, but more is needed if Andover is to have the leisure facilities it needs.
This week Test Valley Borough Council's corporate director Claire Chidley said the council needed to know what arts and leisure facilities the people of Andover want.
So the Andover Advertiser has set up its own telephone poll for readers to call in with their preferences.
The newspaper has been inundated with over 200 Save Our Theatre coupons - with more coming in all the time - as well as a 250-name petition, collected on our behalf by the Liberal Democrats, backing our campaign.
But many people, while recognising the importance of Cricklade Theatre, are now also calling for a more comprehensive complex.
Write to Letters to the Editor, Andover Advertiser, 24-32 London Street, Andover SP10 2PE if you want a public meeting to discuss the way forward - or email newsdesk@andoveradvertiser.co.uk
See the Andover Advertiser for your chance to vote.
